You're invited to take a stroll through the woods with me at Fort Wilkins. Our hike will start at the Park Store at 2 PM. We'll walk and talk for about an hour on easy terrain within the Park boundaries. Let's see what we can find! July 8, Friday, 7:30 PM….What’s Blooming in and around Ft. Wilkins and the Keweenaw. Some of the summer’s most amazing wildflowers bloom at this time. I’ll take you on a visual tour of what’s blooming out there on the big beautiful Keweenaw! July 22, Friday, 7:30 PM….It’s a Berry, Berry Nice Keweenaw! We’ll look at wild berries and a few nuts of the Keweenaw. What’s edible…What’s not! Whats blooming too! August 2, Tuesday 7:30 PM….What’s Blooming in and around Ft. Wilkins and the Keweenaw. Plus, what you missed in the spring to look for next year. I’ll tease you with some incredible spring and early summer species worth coming to the Keweenaw to see. August 15, Monday, 7:30 PM….Orchids and Rare Wildflowers of the Keweenaw. You’ll see and learn about 26 native orchids and a number of rare and endangered wildflowers that inhabit the Keweenaw.
